Le Camarde - Feudi di Guagnano

Blend of 80% Negroamaro and 20% Primitivo from three vineyards in ancient Camarda district, named for "three old sisters" who give great wines yearly. Primitivo hand-harvested early September, Negroamaro mid-September from 45-50 year-old alberello vines. Gentle crushing, destemming, two-week maceration and fermentation. Aged three months French oak plus three months bottle. Deep ruby-red with complex sensorial profile of liquorice, berries, juniper, china-root. Silky tannins, long finish. Perfect synthesis of Salento's two indigenous varieties. Ages six-seven years. Pairs with red meats.
